{"id":154,"date":"2015-04-24T14:33:24","date_gmt":"2015-04-24T14:33:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/re\/bridgeofweirprimary\/?page_id=154"},"modified":"2018-12-02T15:49:41","modified_gmt":"2018-12-02T15:49:41","slug":"school-aims","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/re\/stcatherines\/information-2\/school-aims\/","title":{"rendered":"School Aims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">The aims of St Catherine\u2019s Primary are to ensure that we:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create a happy, secure and inclusive atmosphere conducive to a positive attitude to learning and teaching.<\/li>\n<li>Raise attainment and develop lifelong skills by providing a stimulating and accessible curriculum for all children.<\/li>\n<li>Promote a sense of responsibility, tolerance, loyalty, self-worth, co-operation and care for our community environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">Service Pledges<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"> Standards and expectations<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"> We will:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"> offer all children and young people a free school place;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"> provide school premises which meet health and safety standards;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"> provide information on your child\u2019s progress;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"> provide religious and moral education for your child;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"> give support and encouragement to parental involvement in schools;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"> provide regular information on school activities;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"> and provide 25 hours of class contact time in each normal school week for pupils of primary-school age.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Pupils will have opportunities for:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"> personal and social development;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"> music, cultural activities and creativity;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"> access to healthier lifestyles and sports activities; and community involvement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">You can also expect:<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"> a formal written report on your child\u2019s progress;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"> an annual report on progress within the school improvement plan;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"> an opportunity to have a formal meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">How can you help?<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"> By law, you must make sure your child receives education.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"> As a parent, you can help your child by:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"> making sure your child goes to school regularly;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"> encouraging and supporting your child with any homework given;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000\"> showing that you are interested in how your child is getting on at school; encouraging your child to respect the school and the whole school community; and being involved in the school.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The aims of St Catherine\u2019s Primary are to ensure that we: Create a happy, secure and inclusive atmosphere conducive to a positive attitude to learning and teaching.
