F\u00e8is Ph\u00e0islig is an arts organisation that provides opportunities in traditional music and Gaelic culture for young people across Renfrewshire.\u202fGaelic for\u202fPaisley Festival,\u202fF\u00e8is Ph\u00e0islig was established in 2015 and delivered our first ever \u2018F\u00e8is Week\u2019, an intensive course of come-and-try workshops, that saw over 60 children take part in instrumental tuition, singing and drama with some of Scotland\u2019s leading traditional musicians.\u202fWe now provide a year-round programme of events that delivered to over 4500 in 2019.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/small><\/p>\n

As part of Renfrewshire Council\u2019s Youth Music Initiative programme, our Introduction to Traditional Music project aims to give pupils a fun and engaging experience of their culture and heritage. Through music, song, dance and more, our tutors provide a broad introduction to Scottish music and Gaelic culture and give pupils the opportunity to hear, experience and enjoy the traditional arts.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/small><\/p>\n

We work with Renfrewshire Council to identify schools that would benefit from the project and those schools are offered tuition in tin whistle or Gaelic song. Pupils require no previous experience of music or Gaelic to participate.
