Additional Support Needs – Guitar
The outcome of this project is to provide guitar tuition to pupils attending schools for children and young people with additional support needs. This will be a unique opportunity for these students to learn and develop their musical skills. The guitar is an excellent instrument for developing fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and cognitive abilities, making it an ideal choice for children with additional support needs.
Throughout the course of the project, a variety of different styles of music will be introduced and explored. This will ensure that the students have a well-rounded musical education and are exposed to a range of different genres and techniques. The guitar is a versatile instrument that can be used to play many different styles of music, from classical to rock, pop, and blues.
Each year, the project will work with new pupils, starting their guitar tuition from scratch and will be given the opportunity to progress at their own pace. The project will be tailored to meet the individual needs of each student, with a focus on developing their confidence, self-expression, and creativity.
The guitar tuition will be delivered by experienced and qualified tutors who have a passion for teaching and working with children with additional support needs. They will use a range of teaching methods and resources to ensure that the students are engaged and motivated throughout the project. This may include using visual aids, games, and other interactive tools to make the learning process fun and enjoyable.
Overall, this project has the potential to make a significant impact on the lives of the pupils involved. By providing them with the opportunity to learn and develop their musical skills, they will gain a sense of accomplishment and self-worth, and will be able to express themselves creatively through music. Additionally, the project may also help to improve their social skills and provide them with a sense of belonging and community.
