Take a Break grant programme is now open for applications at midday on Tuesday 5 May 2026.<\/p>\n

The aim of this programme is to support unpaid parent carers\u2019 quality of life, health and wellbeing by providing cash grants to help them access a short break. Take a Break grants can be used flexibly, to help meet the interests and circumstances of the carer.<\/p>\n

Take a Break Scotland provides cash grants to parents caring for disabled and seriously ill children and young people, aged 0 to 17.<\/p>\n

The grant can be used for things like day trips, a short break away, travel costs, additional carer, gardening and home entertainment equipment, and much more. It aims to improve unpaid carers’ quality of life and wellbeing by supporting them to access a break from the day-to-day routine of caring<\/p>\n

@takeabreakscotland grants are funded by the Scottish Government and administered by the charity @familyfund.<\/p>\n
