A focus on wider achievement\u00a0 awards through the BGE will:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>help children to build and articulate their skills from a young age<\/li>\n<li>build the skills for learning, life and work<\/li>\n<li>develop children&#8217;s confidence and sense of achievement outwith the academic<\/li>\n<li>improve children&#8217;s understanding of the importance of wider learning<\/li>\n<li>support young people to access vocational pathways in high school and beyond (Developing the Young Workforce)<\/li>\n<li>support staff to track and profile wider learning and skills development<\/li>\n<li>support young people in their pursuit of next steps (applications, interviews, personal statements etc)<\/li>\n<li>extend the opportunity for achievement and skills development of children and young people who are most at risk of underachieving (equity)<\/li>\n<li>provide more opportunities to involve families in the language of awards<\/li>\n<li>give more opportunities for families to engage in the learning of children and young people in a softer way<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>If you already have your own wider achievement story to tell, please complete a storyboard using one of the formats provided:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/re\/public\/renwiderachievement\/uploads\/sites\/2948\/2020\/06\/05073705\/Wider-Achievement-Storyboard-Templates.zip\">Wider Achievement Storyboard Templates<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Please return your completed storyboard to: <span style=\"color: #800080\">zoe.inglis@renfrewshire.gov.uk\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With this page, we hope to share resources, ideas and practice on the delivery of wider achievement awards in the Broad General Education.
