    3. NDCS survey<\/strong><\/p>\n

    “The survey is for deaf young people and parents\/carers of deaf children, and will ask about their experiences of accessing support from a Teacher of the Deaf. We\u2019re doing this because we\u2019re keen to learn more about families\u2019 experiences \u2013 and gain a better understanding of the impact Teachers of the Deaf have on deaf children and their families. This will help shape our future work around raising the profile of Teachers of the Deaf and helping to make sure specialist support is always there for deaf children.”\u00a0 Mark Ballard at the NDCS<\/p>\n

    5. Fire alarms at home<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Some children and young people may not be woken by a fire alarm for example if they have taken off their cochlear implant or they have a unilateral hearing loss.\u00a0\u00a0 We have made enquiries about the new Scottish legislation on interlinked fire alarms and have gathered information from various sources.<\/p>\n
