Ways this is achieved include:<\/p>\n<h6>Direct teaching<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>to support pupils within classes, in small groups and individually (<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/re\/renfrewshiresensoryteam\/notetaking\/\">click here<\/a> for additional information on notetaking)<\/li>\n<li>tutorial support<\/li>\n<li>to be involved in the assessment, planning, recording and reporting process;<\/li>\n<li>to support pupils in their use of equipment and technology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6>Curriculum development<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>to support the differentiation of the curriculum to ensure access for pupils with additional needs;<\/li>\n<li>to provide differentiated resources to meet the specific needs of pupils;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6>Staff development<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>to deliver staff development on a particular area of expertise\/on strategies to support individual children\/on using technology for individual children;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6>Consultation and liaison<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>to provide advice and support to individual staff<\/li>\n<li>to contribute to the range of meetings organized by the educational establishment<\/li>\n<li>to work in partnership with parents;<\/li>\n<li>to liaise with other agencies as required;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6>Other Duties<\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>to contribute to whole school approaches to inclusion;<\/li>\n<li>to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the support service.<\/li>\n<li>PL with regards to GTCS standards<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Role of the Sensory Support Teacher This role is to support children\/young people using the GIRFEL model to remove barriers to learning, enabling children\/young people to access rich, relevant learning experiences.
