Accessibility: Reaching all Learners
iPad is designed with accessibility features built in, enabling all people to learn and create in the ways that work best for them. Because technology is most powerful when it empowers everyone.
In this two-parter, we will share some key accessibility features on iPad and offer personalised support. This course will allow participants hands on experience with:
- Importance of accessibility tools
- Reading tools
- Writing tools
- Focus tools
Following the first session, participants are welcome to contact the RTC facilitators with areas of particular need in their establishments. We will endeavour to address these and offer potential supports in the second session.

Building a Creative Classroom
In this workshop we will explore the role of creativity in learning and why it matters. We’ll look at what the research says and how it could impact future learning environments. You’ll try out skills-based projects and creative activities based on research findings. We’ll then discuss how easily these can be applied in your setting.

This course will allow participants hands on experience with:
- Using Book Creator
- How to create interactive ebooks, including adding text, images, audio, and video
- Ideas on how to use Book Creator in different subject areas and with various age groups

- Making your own characters and settings for interactive scenes

Assessment, Feedback and Time Saving with iPad
Join us to discover how to use iPad to support assessment, feedback and time saving in your classroom!
In this workshop we will see how simple built-in tools on iPad can support and help students to provide clear explanations, and for teachers to assess and provide feedback.
We will learn how:
- Use AirPlay and the Camera App as a live visualiser and explore the Mark Up tools for annotation
- Create Screen Recordings of student work with verbal feedback
- Make effective use of screen shots
- Use Notes to create resources and explore Math Notes
- Understand how to use and create electronic worksheets with learners

Come along to become a confident user of the various features of iPad and gain your first Apple Teacher iPad badge!
This course will allow participants hands on experience to:
- Discover the various features of iPad to transform how it is used
- Gain the skills to pass the quiz and earn the Apple Teacher iPad badge
- Develop their skills in future Apple Teacher courses following sharing of resources and videos
- Earn Apple Teacher status after gaining all 6 badges

Apple Teacher
Let us support you to gain your Apple Teacher status!
There are six badges to be gained before Apple Teacher status is awarded: iPad Basics, Pages, Keynote, Numbers, iMovie and GarageBand. The aim is for you to become aware of the different features of each of these areas of iPad before a short quiz checks your understanding. Once the quiz is passed you gain a badge, all six badges = Apple Teacher.
Our online Apple Teacher series for 2023-2024 has now come to a close. All sessions were recorded and can be accessed here so can be worked through at your own pace.
