Stages of Early Arithmetical Learning (SEAL)

The SEAL approach is highly effective as the continual formative assessment throughout learning and teaching, by close observation of child’s actions and responses, is used to guide next steps. This satisfies the aim of working within the child’s Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) so that the child is successful in their learning with small but well targeted prompts and adjustments by the teacher. This course will develop participants’ understanding of SEAL pedagogy as well as offering practical advice for implementation.

Suitable for early years, primary and ASN.
