This programme centres on the use of continual diagnostic assessment that allows the teacher to pinpoint the exact stage of conceptual development for a child, allowing them to tailor next steps and close attainment gaps in number. The course is founded on the ideas in the Teaching Number series of books, which underpinned previous authority work on S.E.A.L. Practitioner enquiry is woven through this programme and practitioners will be supported to carry out their own enquiries that will then feed in to a wider evaluation. Collaboration is key to the success of this programme so it lends itself well to a whole- school or group approach. There will be six twilight sessions in total.
Suitable for early years, primary, secondary (particularly SfL teachers) and ASN.
