The concrete-pictorial-abstract approach can help learners achieve deeper understanding through being able to visualise problems and see the relationships that underpin concepts. This course will take participants through the most commonly-used concrete materials offering guidance on effective use for teaching place value, the four operations, fractions, decimal fractions and percentages, and algebra. There will be three twilight sessions in total.
