Data Literacy

Rationale

In order to raise attainment and close the poverty related attainment gap, we need good quality evidence to better understand how we can improve outcomes for children and young people. Developing skills in data literacy ensures that the evidence that we use to inform decision making is robust and adds value.

Outcomes

Increase in competence levels in terms of data literacy across Renfrewshire’s establishments.

Teachers at all levels have a clear understanding about what the ‘gap’ means in their context.

Staff will know who to target to improve equity through using data effectively.

Data used systematically to plan for improvement

Staff at all levels increasingly clear about what works in terms of how to simultaneously create excellence and equity
