4 teachers will explore a coaching approach to the teaching of reading alongside a range of practical strategies to optimise and assess pupil progress.\u00a0 This course will cover a range of evidence-based approaches to the teaching of reading including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the 3 Domain Model<\/li>\n<li>the Renfrewshire Literacy Checklist<\/li>\n<li>running records &amp; miscue analysis<\/li>\n<li>ensuring the appropriate text level<\/li>\n<li>book banding<\/li>\n<li>coaching strategies and reading prompts<\/li>\n<li>measuring and maximising reader engagement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Session 1: 21\/9\/22<\/p>\n<p>Session 2: 28\/9\/22<\/p>\n<p>Sessions will run from 3.45 &#8211; 5.15pm at Arkleston Learning Hub.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Dive into Reading<\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"_79t4E3psdnUlks\" dir=\"ltr\">This two part course for primary and secondary practitioners will explore the use of a reader response approach to develop pupils\u2019 comprehension skills using high quality texts.\u00a0 This course will cover a range of evidence-based comprehension strategies including:<\/p>\n<ul id=\"_gq2heFGtnl5HFL\">\n<li id=\"_362CTta6KiobwL\">developing comprehension skills using the 3 Domain Model<\/li>\n<li id=\"_xQALshGhhNObSG\">the selection of appropriately challenging texts<\/li>\n<li id=\"_OJRYRA8cXCqI2E\">the use of class\/individual reading journals and response walls<\/li>\n<li id=\"_CRRQW6D1PmWTmA\">the 3 sharings<\/li>\n<li id=\"_fJRnfuaOA8JHzF\">shared reading<\/li>\n<li id=\"_sxmBuOPihEgUVf\">text marking<\/li>\n<li id=\"_Qv8YZYosPGddSh\">use of illustration<\/li>\n<li id=\"_tC34k49b1ffTkL\">use of drama and role play<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Session 1: 30\/10\/23<\/p>\n<p>Session 2:- 6\/11\/23<\/p>\n<p>Sessions will run from 3.45 &#8211;
