Suicide Prevention Skills and Training

Through our partners in the Health and Social Care Partnership, we currently have access to Living Works START.  This is an online suicide prevention e-learning module.  If you would like further information for teams working in pastoral care, please contact Fiona White at fiona.hewitt@renfrewshire.gov.uk

SafeTALK (half day training course) prepares anyone to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first aid resources.

ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) (2 day training course) is a comprehensive workshop designed to help all in communities to become more willing, ready and able to help people at risk of suicide.  Participants will learn how to recognise the signs of suicidal thoughts and how to intervene to prevent the immediate risk of suicide.  ASIST will be available again from May 2022.  Fiona White will be in direct contact with staff with a pupil support/HWB remit to share dates.
