There is an abundance of resources available online and we have collated some resources on this page that we feel are relevant and helpful. As with any new child with English as an additional language, the EAL strategies will be the same, but some children may display signs of trauma. Please note that many pupils from Ukraine speak <strong>Russian <\/strong>as their first language. Their home language should be shared with the school during enrolment in the school.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Access the resources by clicking on the relevant tab above.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div href=\"https:\/\/www.twinkl.ie\/resources\/dual-language-inclusion-teaching-resources\/ukrainian-dual-language-new-starter-eal-inclusion\/english-ukrainian-ukrainian-dual-language-new-starter-eal-inclusion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twinkl<\/a> has a wide range of translated resources in Ukrainian, Russian and English.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/languagesconnect.ie\/language-mats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Useful mats<\/a> for helping Ukrainian pupils and students to access the language of the classroom whether they have Russian or Ukrainian as their home language<\/p>\n<p>Ukrainian\/English <a href=\"https:\/\/thinksmartbox.com\/news\/ukrainian-communication-boards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">communication boards<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/padlet.com\/suzanneritchie\/fzrruug77r8bauk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Supporting Newly Arrived Children from Ukraine in Scotland<\/a> contains lots of useful links to resources.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/scilt.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Scottish National Centre for Languages<\/a> have shared links to resources for teachers and families.<br \/>\nUkraine: resources for schools and families.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.norfolkepss.org.uk\/the-war-in-ukraine-information-and-advice-for-schools\/?msclkid=e3dbf0e7bef711eca1636595be22875a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Norfolk Council Educational Psychology and Specialist Service<\/a> website provides advice, information and resources about how to talk to children about the war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.languagenut.com\/en-gb\/ukraine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Languagenut.com<\/a> has free language learning resources for schools supporting Ukrainian refugees.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.duolingo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Duolingo<\/a> provides fun and effective way to learn a language.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/potrzebafantazji.com\/bohaterowie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Therapy books<\/a> in many different languages including Ukrainian and Russian.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.barnardos.org.uk\/what-we-do\/helping-families\/ukrainian-helpline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Barnardo&#8217;s Ukrainian Support Helpline<\/a> provides information, target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Ukrainian Welcome pack<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Guidance for Parents and Carers from Ukraine on Supporting the Wellbeing of their Children:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.ie\/en\/publication\/9cda4-wellbeing-information-for-parentsguardians\/#guidance-for-parents-and-carers-from-ukraine-on-supporting-the-wellbeing-of-their-children\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Settling into the UK \u2014 Ukrainian Refugee Support (ukrainianinstitute.org.uk)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Ukrainian Ministry for Education and Science has released a useful <a href=\"https:\/\/mon.gov.ua\/eng\/ministerstvo\/diyalnist\/mizhnarodna-dilnist\/pidtrimka-osviti-i-nauki-ukrayini-pid-chas-vijni\/yak-organizuvati-navchannya-dlya-ukrayinskih-ditej-za-kordonom\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Q&amp;A page<\/a> with guidance for Ukrainian children learning abroad or remotely. The page includes links to e-resources, free digital textbooks and practical information about contact with schools and graduation certificates.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"ttfmp-panels-item-content-panels-item_174\" class=\"ttfmp-panels-item-content\">\n<p>The Ministry has also launched the <a href=\"https:\/\/lms.e-school.net.ua\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">All-Ukrainian Online School<\/a> &#8211; a platform with online lessons for Ukrainian students, organised by grade and subject, alongside an <a href=\"https:\/\/mon.gov.ua\/ua\/vseukrayinskij-rozklad\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">All-Ukrainian Online Schedule<\/a>. This online schedule allows Ukrainian children of each grade to follow a school week remotely, which follows the Ukrainian curriculum and is updated weekly. Corresponding resources are provided for each lesson.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/obr.education\/en\/free-educational-resources-for-ukrainian-children\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Education without Backpacks<\/a>\u00a0has compiled free educational resources for children in grades 1-11 in Ukrainian, English, Russian and Bulgarian.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jammschool.com.ua\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jamm School<\/a>, a remote learning platform, is currently offering free access to its distance learning programme, for children in grades 5-11. Both the site and platform are in Ukrainian.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/welcome-a-guide-for-ukrainians-arriving-in-the-uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UK Government<\/a> has created these digital packs in English and Ukrainian for those who have newly arrived.
