Religious Education is concerned with developing an understanding of religion.\u00a0 Our learners have the opportunity to learn about, and from, \u00a0the beliefs, values, practices and tradition of Christianity and the world religions selected for study at each stage.\u00a0 Moral education is taught via specific lessons and by an ethos of respect promoted throughout our school.\u00a0 We encourage our learners to develop respect for others and an understanding of religions and non-religious beliefs and practices which are different from their own.\u00a0 We ensure that we take account of the faith background, circumstances and developmental stage of the children and their capacity to engage with complex ideas.<\/p>\n
Collaborative learning encourages children to discuss and share ideas and develop skills for life and work such as communication, working with others and problem solving.\u00a0 Religious observance assemblies are led by St Mark’s church staff every 3-4 weeks.\u00a0 As parents you have the right to withdraw your child from religious observance and should you wish to exercise this right, you are asked to confirm this in writing to the Head Teacher.<\/p>\n
