{"id":308,"date":"2015-05-26T08:28:32","date_gmt":"2015-05-26T08:28:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/re\/bridgeofweirprimary\/?page_id=308"},"modified":"2018-03-12T09:51:42","modified_gmt":"2018-03-12T09:51:42","slug":"technologies","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/re\/ralston\/curriculum\/technologies\/","title":{"rendered":"Technologies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Learning in technologies will allow your child to develop skills, knowledge, understanding and attributes through creative, practical and work-related activities across a range of areas.\u00a0 They will be able to use these skills in business, computing science, digital literacy, food, textiles, craft, design, engineering and graphics.<\/p>\n<p>ICT refers to forms of technology that are used to transmit, store, create, display, share or exchange information by electronic means.\u00a0 being skilled in using ICT is essential if our learners are to be effective contributors able to communicate and interact on a global scale.\u00a0 Working in technologies provides opportunities for our learners to consider security aspects associated with ICT e.g. keeping persona data secure.\u00a0 We follow Renfrewshire Council&#8217;s policy on internet use and seek parental consent from parents before allowing children to use the internet or have their photos on the school&#8217;s Twitter.\u00a0 All classes have computers in them and we also have an ICT suite.\u00a0 We have also purchased ipads to enhance digital learning and our digital leaders programme provides and opportunity for some of our senior pupils to share their expertise and lead learning across the school.<\/p>\n<p>Close links are developed and encouraged between technologies, engineering, mathematics and science.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Learning in technologies will allow your child to develop skills, knowledge, understanding and attributes through creative, practical and work-related activities across a range of areas.\u00a0 They will be able to use these skills in business, computing science, digital literacy, food, textiles, craft, design, engineering and graphics.
