Week Beginning: Monday 7th December 2020

Good Morning!

We hope you all had a fantastic weekend and are feeling ready for the week ahead.

Below you will find your homework activities for the week. If you have any problems, please let us know straight away. If you forget your Glow password, don’t worry, this can be reset in class if required.

This week we are looking at the spelling rule ‘for’. We have discussed the meaning of our spelling words and associated words in class. Our rule words this week are: referral, inferred, transfer, preferred, deferred and conference. Our common words are: suffix, especially, plural and cotton. Please complete the associated task on Teams, uploading either a word document or a photograph of your work.

In class we have been looking at solving equations. This week our maths homework is digital. Please find the task details on teams.

Please continue to read your accelerated reader at home. You should aim to complete an accelerated reading book every couple of weeks (unless discussed with your teacher).

We are looking forward to the week ahead – let’s have a good one!

P7C Week Beg 17.02.20

Good morning everyone!

I hope you’ve had a lovely weekend and had some opportunities to relax. Although last week was a short one, we used our time to explore some outdoor and STEM based learning. Your inventions for Friday’s food preservation task were superb, and I enjoyed watching you develop new uses for everyday items. Well done!

Please see below for homework, news, and reminders:

Spelling: Please complete the three spelling tasks for Friday, 21st February. Continue to develop your use of openers, dialogue and punctuation in your sentences/stories/paragraphs – I am thoroughly enjoying reading these.

Reading: Your reading book should be completed by Tuesday, 17th February. Remember to fill in your passport for the First Minister’s Reading Challenge. You can include both personal and Accelerated Reading books.

Maths: We have been working on Improper Fractions and Mixed Numbers. Please complete the following questions in your Maths homework jotter, ensuring layout, working and presentation is clear. Let me know if you need a hand with this before Thursday – we will be consolidating our learning of fractions and their many forms during lessons this week.

Personal Project: Your WW2 personal project is due by Monday 16th March. You will present your project to the class on either Tuesday 17th March or Wednesday 18th March.  Please see the separate blog post for the task specifications. Let me know if you require resources, e.g. paper, or if you need access to the school internet to complete the task.

Gym is on Tuesday and Friday this week.

Last week. we did an outdoor scavenger hunt in both French and German to cement our learning of colours and it was really fun! When an opportunity presents itself, it’s great to take our learning outside. As the weather is particularly temperamental just now, and the ground can be a bit mucky, feel free to bring a pair of old shoes, trainers or wellies to store in class. These can be worn outside instead of your school shoes.

Let’s have another fab week!
