P7H Maths Week Day 4 ✖️➕➗📊📐🎲

This morning, we did our Big Maths Beat That tests and there were many happy faces with the pupils beating their previous best score. 👏🏼

Later on, the class enjoyed playing Kahoots on the Maths and Numeracy topics which we have covered this term 💫.

In the afternoon, we played a games based around probability and it was great to hear all of the discussion around the findings  as you played 🎲🎲.

We finished the week off with games of battleships. ⛴⚓️  It’s been a great week filled with lots of active activities which reinforced Term One learning and highlighted the many ways we use Maths in everyday life 👍🏻📊📐✖️➗➕🎲

Primary 7H learned about nets of 3D shapes today and started creating a model of Bishopton with key buildings. 🏘

As our topic is Japan 🇯🇵 , we looked at Japanese numbers and everyone created their own poster.

Finally we have been learning about probability so the children enjoyed looking at this in the context of the game Rock, Paper,  Scissors. 👊🏻🤚🏻🖖🏻🎲

Today, Primary 7H made Maths booklets for their buddies. ☺️ They had to come up with handy things that would assist their Primary 1 buddies in doing their Maths work. The aim was to make them bright and colourful so that they would be appealing to the younger children.

They are looking forward to hopefully meeting their buddies in the near future even if it is virtually at first 😃.

We started out Maths Week by taking part in the Sumdog contest. Remember you can take part at home as well 💫👍🏻.

Later in the day, everyone created a stain class window using their knowledge of angles. Our chilli challenge allowed everyone to challenge themselves when choosing which angles to draw in their window 📐🖼.

Our final activity was our Maths ‘Daily 10’ where the children complete times challenges from various areas of Numeracy. It’s great to see everyone challenging themselves and trying to beat their own scores from round to round 👏🏼.

P7H Japan Personal Projects

Good Afternoon,

I hope you have all had a lovely restful weekend 😃.

Thank you to those who have sent over their personal projects. This has allowed me to download them and have them ready for you to present this week. Remember all projects should be in for tomorrow as we will be starting to present. If you are not bringing a presentation in on paper or USB, please email your PowerPoints to me tonight or tomorrow before school. If you could attach the presentation to the email, this makes it easy for me to download. Remember you should have cue cards to assist you in giving eye contact to your audience.

I’m looking forward to hearing all about your research into your area of interest 🇯🇵.

Background
Buddhists believe that the Buddha saw the truth of what the world is like, and they follow his teachings. They have many beliefs and practices they follow in order to live their lives in a Buddhist way.

Your task today:

Learning Outcome:
I can show understanding of the beliefs and practices of Buddhism and explore the similarities and differences between these and my developing beliefs. RME 2-04c

Skill for Learning:
Synthesis – I can research about a belief or practice of Buddhism and explain it to my peers.

Social Skill
Disagreeing without criticising people – I can show/explain my feelings about someone’s idea/opinion without offending them.

Task
Yesterday, you were introduced to Buddhism and you began to discuss key features of this religion. Today, in your group, you are going to research to answer a variety of questions about Buddhism.  You will find the questions that your group should answer on the following link: Introducing buddhism questions task

Once you have found answers to each question, you will create a mindmap on Buddhism.
