Victorians Trip

We had a fantastic day today visiting Pollock House and Scotland Street Museum. At Pollock House we learned all about the previous owners who lived there during Victorian times. We had the opportunity to dress up and learn about the diffferent roles in the house, from scullery maid to lady of the house. We toured the house and learned about lots of diffferent things that Victorians used to live. At Scotland Street we were very lucky to experience a realistic Victorian school lesson. Thanks go to Miss McDowall for being our Victorian school teacher!

Scottish Maths Week Events

We have had a great Scottish Maths Week and have taken part in lots of Maths activities. On Thursday we went to the local Co-op and  were tasked with creating a three course meal for two people for under £10. We were very good at this and became extreme bargain hunters! As part of our bingo Maths homework, some of us baked or cooked, as well as taking part in the Bishopton Maths trail, adding up the heights of our family members and creating 3D models.  We also created a human bar graph outside showing our favourite sports. We had great fun!

Co-op Visit – Thursday

This Thursday we are going to the Co-op as part of maths week. We still need two parent helpers to attend the visit. We are going from 1.15pm. If you can make this can you leave a note in your child’s homework diary. Some pupils have also not returned the excursion permission forms sent home last week that will enable them to attend the Co-op. Can you please bring these in as soon as possible.

See you tomorrow!

A Glimpse Into the World of Technology!

During technologies time this week, P6G were lucky enough to have a very special visitor. Suzanne came to tell us all about her job working in technology. She explained what she does in her job and the different skills she needs to use to do it well. Suzanne told us lots of interesting things, including how she is hoping to use virtual reality in the world of banking! The class had lots of questions for Suzanne.

We are learning all about the world of technology and engineering so we can become members of the Institution of Primary Engineers!

Thank you very much to Suzanne for coming along to visit us!

P6G and P2C Read and Munch

We have teamed up with P2C to do a read and munch every Friday to read our stories to each other with a healthy snack. We really enjoyed this and primary two were fantastic listeners! We are looking forward to next week when they bring books up to us to read!

The Butterfly Lion Presentations

We have been reading The Butterfly Lion by Michael Morpurgo as a class and we are really enjoying completing different tasks on the book. As there are so many different African animals mentioned in the book, we did a bit of research on different African animals in pairs. We then presented a fact file to the class. We found out lots of interesting information and enjoyed sharing this with each other.

Well done everyone.

A great first day in P6G!

We really enjoyed our first day in Primary 6 today. It was great to hear all about your holidays and we enjoyed getting to know each other.

Our PE days are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please start bringing in full PE kits if you have not already done this.

More information about the term will follow.

Homework will be issued on Monday along with homework diaries.

You were all issued with letters today about starting music lessons for either the flute or clarinet. If you wish to take part in this please give the consent form back to me by next Monday ( 21st Aug).

I look forward to our fantastic year in P6.
