P5S – Euclid Maths Homework w/b 28.05.2019

  1. Abbey and Sofia love to draw. Between them they have 969 colouring pens and pencils. They shared them equally between themselves and Eilish. How many pens/pencils did each girl have? If each pen/pencil has a value of 5p, what would the total bundle cost?
  1. Last weekend Millie and Leah went shopping for their dance costumes. The total cost of their outfits was £14.69. If they paid with a £20.00 note, how much change did they receive?
  1. Ruaridh and Innes decided to run up and down the grassy patch beside the huts 4 times in total. If the grassy patch is 6 metres in length, what distance did the boys run?
  1. Rio and Evan were invited to a chess tournament. They were asked to arrive at 10.15am. If it took the boys 1 hour and 45 minutes to travel there, what time would they have to leave Bishopton?

  1. Aimee was attending her ice-skating lessons at the weekend. She left her house at 10.15am and arrived at the ice-rink at 11.00am. Aimee stayed at the rink for 2 hours before heading home. If her journey home took the same length of time as it did on the way there, what time did Aimee arrive home?
  1. Miley and Evie G walked to the Co-op for some snacks. On the way there they took 5487 steps. How many steps had they walked by the time they got home?
  1. Evan had £8.24 to spend. If he spent ¾ of it at Costcutters on Jolly Ranchers, how much money did Evan spend? How much did he have left?

2.  There are 6 Easter eggs in a box. If the Co-op has 1,926 eggs, how        many boxes do they have?

3.  Costcutters are selling medium sized Easter eggs for £3.49.  If                 you have £15.00, how many eggs can you buy? How much                        change will you have?

4.  Hannah has two extra large bags of chocolate mini eggs. Each bag        contains 726 mini eggs. If Hannah shares them equally between            herself and 4 friends, how many eggs do each of them receive?              Are there any left over?

5.  On Easter Sunday Carys and Jude are visiting their grandparents         in Greenock. If they leave their house at 8.15am and return                     later in the day at 6.55pm, how long will they have been away                 from home? What time did they leave and return in 24 hour                     clock?
