P5S – Thank You

This will be my final post of Primary 5. Can you believe it is over? It has just flown by.  What a fun filled year we have had! Thank you for being such a great bunch to teach.  I would like to thank everyone for the lovely gifts received and all the kind words: they are greatly appreciated.

I hope you all have a wonderful summer. Stay safe and I will see you all in August.

P5 – PATHS Party

Yesterday we had our PATHS party to celebrate and recognise the positive impact PATHS has had in all areas within our school environment, and beyond: in class, in the playground and hopefully at home also.

During our party we had to chat to someone from the other class: someone you wouldn’t normally play with. You were also to give them a compliment. It was nice to see so many of you mixing so well and the compliments I heard being given, were just lovely. Well done Primary 5!

Here are a few photos from our party. Please excuse the blue mouths – the ice-cream van came to visit just in time for our party!

Good afternoon! Well, can you believe we have reached the final week of Primary 5? It has been such a quick year. There is no official homework  this week, however please feel free to complete personal reading to ensure you have achieved your target for this term.

A note of reminders for the coming week can be found below.

Admin:

  • Please bring a carrier bag in for all your wall display work and jotters.
  • Please check at home for any reading books which have not yet been returned to school. These may be core reading books, accelerated readers or books from our class library.
  • We will be visiting Bishopton Library on Tuesday to return our books.
  • P.E. will be on Tuesday and Friday this week. Please ensure you have a full change of kit. All Kits will be taken home on Friday.
  • School closes at 1.00pm on Friday.

Enjoy the remainder of the weekend. See you tomorrow.

P5S – Titanic Open Afternoon

We finished our week hosting our Titanic Open Afternoon for family members. I was delighted to see so many of them come and you had the opportunity to share all of your learning and knowledge from our Titanic topic.

Our activities were well received and I think the unsinkable ship task was  definitely a favourite. Our guests were becoming very competitive! Our refreshments tables were also a great success, so much so some of our 3rd class passengers were attempting to sneak into 1st class.

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us. I hope you enjoyed seeing and hearing what we have been learning about this term. Thank you also for the positive feedback received. It is greatly appreciated. We have all been working very hard on this topic.

P5S – Heartstart

This week we completed our Primary 5 Heartstart training. For this session we looked at the symptoms someone would be displaying if they were having a heart attack. I was very impressed that you were able to remember them all so well. Please tell someone at home what the symptoms are.

We also learned what to do if we ever found ourselves in a situation where someone was displaying these symptoms. Please show someone at home the position you should put the unwell person in. Can you remember what other things you should, and shouldn’t do?

Here are a few photos from our role play scenarios.

P5S – Titanic Personal Projects

This week we have been presenting our Titanic Personal Projects. You have been sharing lots of information in a variety of ways. The sinking of the Titanic has definitely been a favourite with lots of you basing your project around this part of the topic.

This will be your final presentation of Primary 5 and I am delighted at just how much so many of you have grown in confidence since your River Clyde projects way back in term 1. Well done everyone!
