Good evening,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.  I can’t quite believe this is the last week of Primary 5 for our children.  They are a wonderful class and I wish them all the very best for Primary 6.  Thank you for all of your continued support this year and I wish you all a lovely summer break when it comes.

On Tuesday 22nd June we will be having our virtual assembly.  This will start at 1:00 pm and will last approximately 30 minutes.  You should have received a google meet link through your email for this assembly.  If you have not  received this please send me an email and I will reply with the link.  All going well we will see you at 1:00 pm on Tuesday.

The summer reading challenge has launched and details can be found here. Summer Reading Challenge

I would like to take this opportunity again to thank you all for your continued support and patience this year.  It has been a very unusual year again but the children have been just wonderful and a pleasure to teach.  It has been lovely getting to know all of the children and I hope they all have a great summer holidays when it comes.

We close for the summer holidays at 1pm on Friday 25th June.

Please can you send in an empty plastic bag for the children to send home their work this week.

Thank you as always for all of your support this year.  I can’t quite believe we only have 2 weeks left before the end of P5.  The children have been a delight to work with this year.

P5R Transport Class Talk

P5 Transport Talk

I am developing confidence when engaging with others within and beyond my place of learning. I can communicate in a clear, expressive way and I am learning to select and organise resources independently. LIT 2-10a / LIT 3-10a

Your task for your class talk this term is to choose a form of transport that interests you.

This could be current forms of transport such as cars, buses, trains, planes etc.  Or you could look at transport from the past like the Penny Farthing.  You might talk about the change over time for a form of transport.  For example looking at how cars have changed over time. You might look at more modern ideas for cars such as the electric car or the flying car!

Task

You should prepare your talk to last between 2 and 4 minutes.

This can be presented in any way you choose -a poster, a powerpoint, a model etc…..

Your talk should be ready to present to the class by Friday 4thJune

Remember:

  • A nice clear, loud voice
  • Detail about your chosen topic
  • Good eye contact with your audience
  • Well prepared and practised

I look forward to hearing your talks.  Good luck!

News
Class song
This week we will be practising our class song for the online concert event.  We will be performing the whole song.  We will be practising the words each day in class so that the children have a good chance to learn the words.  We are waiting for the house t shirts to arrive before the children should send in their videos of their performances from home.  We will discuss this in class this week.
Sports Day
This year, sports day will be a little bit different but with the same house pride as always. Due to current regulations, we can only race in our classes and this will be done in our PE slots. No spectators are allowed.

Our wonderful house captains will be recording our class races. We will then put it all together so we can watch the races unfold and find out who has won the coveted sports day trophy. This will be shared with parents and family.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the weather, we are asking pupils to bring their house colours to school (in your school bag) every possible race day next week (Tuesday-Friday). Please do not worry if you do not have house colours, you will still race for your team. We suggest you wear casual uniform to school on these days. This will allow us to rearrange any races if the weather takes a turn for the worse.

Below is a reminder of our house colours. There is absolutely no need to buy anything new.

Falcons – Blue
Ospreys – Red
Eagles – Yellow
Hawks – Green

Good luck to all of the houses!

Go Team Bishopton!

Have a great week and thank you for your continued support.
