P5R wk beg 23.5.22

Good afternoon, I hope you all had a lovely weekend.  Homework and news for this week as follows:

Homework

Spelling – This week our spelling pattern is the prefix trans as in transport and transform.  Please complete the spelling activities detailed at the front of the homework jotters.

Maths – This week we are looking at money word problems.  Please complete this task for Friday.

Reading  – This week the children should read their accelerated reader for homework.  They can then complete an accelerated reader quiz if they finish their book in class or at home.

News

On Wednesday we have our Bishopton Sports day.  Children can come to school in their house colours and sporty clothes.

Thursday will be Mrs Harkins last day with us in P5R.  We have enjoyed having Mrs Harkins with us in class and wish her all the best for her future teaching career.

The school will be closed on Friday 27th May and will reopen on Monday 30th May.

This week on Tuesday and Wednesday we have our Parent appointments.   I look forward to meeting with you on these days.

On Thursday it is Outdoor Learning day.  We hope to be outside in this day to complete some activities.  Please ensure the children have jackets and suitable shoes for this day.

This week, on Tuesday, we are having a class visit from an engineer from Rolls Royce.  We are looking forward to hearing all about the work Rolls Royce do and taking part in some activities.

We also welcome back Mrs Harkins from who will be in class with us until the end of May.

Our P.E days are Tuesday and Friday this term.  On Friday we hope to be outside for most of our sessions.  It would be great if the children could have trainers with them to change into for these sessions.

News

This week we will be starting our new maths topic looking at weight and measure and we will be starting our new topic all about our local area.

P.E is on Tuesday and Friday this term.
