#COP26 #LearningforSustainability P4R – Scottish Seasonal Soup Challenge

What a busy Friday morning we had in class this week! 4 of our groups were making their seasonal Scottish soups that they designed last week. Each group had their own ingredients to prepare and place in the slow cookers. We discussed how to use the equipment safely and hygienically. I was very impressed with how well the groups worked together and helped each other out with things they were finding tricky. Well done to all of our class chefs!

Everyone who cooked their soup had a chance to try it at the end of the day. Some of the class were a little hesitant to have a taste but hopefully they enjoyed it at home (or passed it on to someone else who did!).

The remaining groups will be creating their soup next week.

Good job everyone!

P4R – PuppetPals on the New iPads!

Last week, P4R were lucky enough to have a turn using the new iPads. We started by recapping the rules for safe and responsible use of technology and how to use the equipment appropriately. To try out the new devices, we tested out the Puppet Pals 2 app. It is great fun and we came up with lots of ideas of how we could use it to support our learning in class. We can’t wait to use the iPads again!

P4R – Scottish Seasonal Soup Challenge

Here are some photos of P4R hard at work designing their own soup. The soup must contain seasonal Scottish ingredients only. This is the class challenge at the end of our food sustainability topic where we have been learning about: where our food comes from, food journeys and how ingredients get from farm to fork. We have been very busy!

P4R – Helpers Needed!

Hello to the P4R Parents and Carers!

We need your help! As of Friday 5th November, P4R will be visiting The Cornerstone as part of our PE lessons this term. Our slot is from 11.40 – 12.40 on a Friday. We need helpers to walk with us to and from school. You do not need to stay for the duration of the lesson and if it is easier, we could have different pairs of helpers walking us to and from The Cornerstone. The EV5 form will cover all pupils for this trip.

There is a table in Teams showing the helpers for each Friday and any gaps.

All pupils will need to bring indoor shoes in a carrier bag to change into at The Cornerstone. If they would like to bring these in each week, that is fine. If you would prefer for them to keep a pair of indoor shoes in a bag in school, that is no problem. Please ensure the bag (and shoes!) are labelled.

Details for helpers

Meet: Upper playground gates

Departure from school time: 11.35

Departure from Cornerstone time: 12.35

If you are able to help, please send me an email at or ask your child to leave me a message on the post I have put on Teams.

We really appreciate your help with this.
