P4B : UPDATE – Food Journey Map

Food Journey Map

When preparing and cooking a variety of foods, I am becoming aware of the journeys which foods make from source to consumer, their seasonality, their local availability and their sustainability. HWB 1-35a

As part of our food sustainability topic, Primary 4 are tasked with creating a food journey map. Take a close look at the labels on fresh food and veg at home, or in the shops, and we will use the information to log on our interactive map that you can access by clicking the image above.

***UPDATE*** Unfortunately the online Google Map does not allow people to add markers who have not been granted individual permission. If you could add a comment to this post with the food you have found and the country it is from, I will add it on to the map. Thank you, and apologies for the confusion!

P4B – Last Day of Term Reminder

Board Game Clip Art

Hello P4B! Well the final week of term is here and what a busy week it’s going to be. We have lots of fun activities planned and will be working hard right up to the last day.

School closes at 2.30pm on Friday and, as discussed last week, you are welcome to bring in games on Friday to play with your classmates. No electronics please and make sure you don’t bring anything in that is too precious.

Not long until Christmas now!

Miss Burnett and Mr Burrell

P4B – Reminders!

Hello P4B!

A couple of things I mentioned today at the end of the day…

2 Litre Bottles

If you have any empty and clean 2 litres bottles in your recycling, could you please bring them in for me tomorrow? Thank you in advance!

Christmas Films

For the P4 end of term Christmas celebration, we are hoping to watch a film at some point next week. As the computers in school will be undergoing some upgrades, the internet may be patchy at times. Asa  result, we are thinking it may be safest to use DVDs. If you have any Christmas films on DVD, and could bring them in for the class to choose from, that woudl be great. The film needs to be a U certificate and if you could label it with your name that would be great.

Thanks in advance!
