Remember circles are practising the 5 times table and the triangles, rectangles and squares are practising the 6 times table.

Homework

Hello P4R,

This week for our spelling homework we will be working on the soft c sound. If you could please hand your jotter in by Friday. There is no reading homework this week. For maths there will be games posted tomorrow to practise multiplication that you can use at home.

Well done to the Eagles for winning the most points last term, a letter has gone home today explaining our non-uniform day for people in that house.

This Week’s Homework

Spelling Homework : You have a list of this term’s words. This week’s focus is n making ‘ng’ sound .      Your  4 sentences should include a variety of  the spelling words. Complete and return by Friday.   

Maths Homework:  Hand out on Tuesday : Rounding Numbers.  Complete sheet for Friday.   Below are two links  to Rounding games on the internet.

Rocket Rounding   (Choose a suitable level. There is an option to view a number line to help you to visualise the concept and a more challenging mode without the number line.).

Reading:  You should try to read a bit at home every night. Please bring in your book daily (it may be required for activities) and return it to your bag at the end of the day to take home again.

Maths Week

Hello P4R,

This week is Maths week and we are doing lot’s of fun maths activities in class. Tomorrow (29th) we will be going on a trip to the Co-op so could you please do the following;

  • Bring in a £1 coin. Please do not bring in more than that.
  • Be at school at 8.45 as we will be leaving at 9 am sharp
  • Bring a jacket, we will be going even if it is raining.

Also we are part of the Sumdog competition so remember you have until 8pm on the 30/09 to answer as many questions as possible. Let’s try and be the best!

Your maths homework this week and next is to complete some of the maths activities in your maths homework jotter. If you would like to post pictures of what you make then I will put a post on Teams for you to reply to.

Next week is parent’s night so can I ask that you return any forms so that I know you can make your time.

Week Beginning 27.9.21 Maths Week Scotland 2021

Homework :                                                                                                                     Our main focus this week is  Maths. We will do Spelling in class. There is a Sumdog competition on just now (it  finishes on Thursday) so try to play a bit every day at home if possible.                                       You also have the double sided Maths Activity sheet in your bag.  You do not need to hand any Maths activities in, however, it would be great if you posted some photos of any of the activities that you choose to complete,  on  Teams. I will set up a post on Teams

If possible, could you please come to school on Friday with £1 to spend at the Co-op, You will be completing a task before spending it.

Co-op Visit Volunteers  : Friday 1st  October  ; 11.30 – 12.30                   We are looking for a few volunteers to accompany us on our trip to the Co-op on Friday morning. I have spoken to the children about it, so if you are  interested in helping us out, please let me know via a note in the school bag tomorrow Wednesday.  If we have lots of offers, then I will choose names at random and let you know ASAP.  Helpers will be given more details later.   Thanks!

Next week : Monday Holiday.   It will also be Maths Week Scotland so I have planned a visit to the Co-op on Friday 1st October. Please ensure you come to school with a waterproof jacket that day.
