There are only a few simple rules –
all children must wear a helmet on a bike
bikes and scooters should be wheeled through the playground on the way in and out of school and on the ashy path.
Parents and younger siblings are welcome to join in the challenge.
Each child will get a chance to cycle or scoot with their friends in the playground during the day.
We would ask that you check over bikes and scooters to make sure they are safe to use, especially if they haven’t been used for a while.
Please don’t worry if your child is unable to bring their bike or scooter on any of their days. Walking counts too!
We are all looking forward to the Big Pedal. It should be lots of fun.

Play the below games to help you practise your division facts:
Homework
Reading – At some point this week you will be given a banded reading book. This is to be read at home and in school, so please bring it in every day. If you do not have a banded book yet, you should be remembering to take home your AR book.
Spelling – You may wish to practise your spelling words on Spelling City. If you would like to complete written work, you can complete an active spelling task using the PDFon Teams. You do not have to hand this in.
The spelling rule this week is ‘y’ for the short vowel sound ‘i’ (as in fin). There are no new common words this week.
Group A – myth, pyramid, lyrics, syrup.
Group B – myth, pyramid, system, lyrics, typical, syrup
Maths – You now have your target table home to practise. You should practise reciting your table from memory and also memorise the multiples going forwards. For example, for the 3 times table, you would say 0,3,6,9,12 etc. It would be good if an adult can listen to you doing this and when they ask you to stop, tell them what times what gives that answer. Once you think you know your table well, ask an adult to ask you the facts out of sequence. You may wish to practise your number bonds and tables by playing Hit the Button, Sumdog or any games on the P4 Maths Links. Hit the button is a good one because you can set it to your target table.
Thank you,
Miss Mackay & Mrs Allan
Reading – For the next week, we are focusing on reading for homework. Please read your book each night so you can return it on Friday. You will complete an AR quiz on it on Friday in class.
Spelling – You may wish to practise your spelling words on Spelling City or Literacy Planet but we are not asking for any written work.
Maths – You may wish to practise your number bonds and tables by playing Hit the Button, Sumdog or any games on the P4 Maths Links but we are not giving any written tasks.
Thank you,
