  •  Burns Assembly is this coming Thursday, feel free to wear something tartan on Thursday. Please continue to practice your poems class winners!
  •  STEM day Friday February 14th – Please bring in recycled resources for our STEM challenge.
  • Please remember that the school is closed for In-service on Friday 7th and  Wednesday 12th and there is also a school holiday on Monday 10th and Tuesday 11th. The school will reopen on Thursday 13th February.


Homework this week is due Friday 14th February.

  • Spelling: Our rule this week is oy/oi with an /oy/ sound. Here are our words.
    •  point, enjoy, choice, toilet, annoy, oyster, left, don’t, few, while
  • Reading: New books have been issued. Discuss the book with your child. Encourage them to explain what the story was about, give it a rating out of 5, and explain why they gave it that rating.
  • Maths: We are working on Money this week focusing on giving change to £1. Please play Toy Shop Money and choose Mixed Coins – Change to £1.

P3F and P3A/M : Hour of Code

This week, P3F and P3A/M have been learning how to code with Scratch. Some of you asked how to use Scratch on your home computers. If you click on the picture below, it will take you to the Scratch website and you can use it online without downloading.

Here is another link you might enjoy. The Hour of Code website has lots of tutorials to build games and animations using coding. When you are on the website, select games for Grades 2-5 and with the Language -> Blocks. These tutorials will be most like the coding we have been doing in class.

This afternoon we took part in the RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch.  We managed to see a few different birds although Picnic Paradise was quite quiet. Remember this is always something you can do at home too if you’re interested.

We will continue to hear our Scottish Poems in class this week and will be visiting some other classes to recite them too.  Well done to everyone for making such a great effort to learn and perform their poem so well!

P3W & P3C Week: 27.1.20

  • A reminder that PE has changed from Tuesday 9:00-9:45 to Thursday 9:00-9:45 until further notice. We still have our normal PE time on Friday.
  • We will hold our in class recitals for the Scots poems this week. Be prepared for Wednesday.

P3C & P3W PE days


From the 21st January, our gym slot has changed from a Tuesday morning to a Thursday morning. This is due to the gym hall being required for another class at our usual time. We will update if/when this changes back again. Sorry for any confusion!
