There is a reminder of spelling tasks that should be completed over the week on the inside cover of the homework jotter and in the assignment on Teams.

Reading

Reading books will be handed out each Monday and must be returned on Thursday each week. This change has been made so that books can be isolated and then reissued to a new child on Monday.

We will be using the 3 sharings to discuss our book and would encourage you to discuss the book with your child also using the 3 sharings strategy.

Likes/Dislikes: What did you like or dislike about the book.

Puzzles: What confused you in the book? Or What made you think of a question?

Connections: Did the book remind you of anything?

P3C & P3W – Week: 17.08.20

Welcome everyone to Primary 3!

It is great that we are all back in school and beginning to return back to our normal routine. It has been fantastic to meet everyone in both classes and we can already tell we will have a fantastic year together.

There are some important changes to our routine that are detailed below so please familiarise yourself with them.

  • The classroom door will be open from 8:45am to help ease congestion around the school.
  • Children will finish school by leaving via the middle playground from 3:10pm.
  • Our PE days are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.  No PE kits will be stored in class, nor will children change into PE kits in class. Please ensure that your child is dressed to be outside on these days. PE will rotate between the upper playground, middle playground, the field, and the pitch.
  • There are no homework diaries at the moment so check the class blog and whole school news blog regularly for any important updates or information.
  • Homework will begin soon and we will update you via the class blog when this begins. Many children from the class have asked and are eager to restart this which is great to hear!
  • Read and Munch will happen on a Friday and children can bring in a book from home as well as a healthy snack. Snacks or books are not to be shared in class (but books can be read to a friend).

A final reminder to be mindful of products that may contain nuts in snacks and lunches as we are a nut free school.

Mr Wormald & Miss Cameron
