P3C & P3W – Week: 24.5.21

Monday 24th May

Reminders
  • Monday 31st May is a holiday.
  • Mrs Kane & Mrs Hughes are in class this Thursday.
  • The class has been given guidance on a solo talk to be completed for Monday 14th June. You can find the details in the blog post.
Sports Day

This year, sports day will be a little bit different but with the same house pride as always. Due to current regulations, we can only race in our classes and this will be done in our PE slots. No spectators are allowed.

Our wonderful house captains will be recording our class races. We will then put it all together so we can watch the races unfold and find out who has won the coveted sports day trophy. This will be shared with parents and family.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the weather, we are asking pupils to bring their house colours to school (in your school bag) every possible race day next week (Tuesday-Friday). Please do not worry if you do not have house colours, you will still race for your team. We suggest you wear casual uniform to school on these days. This will allow us to rearrange any races if the weather takes a turn for the worse.

Below is a reminder of our house colours. There is absolutely no need to buy anything new.

Falcons – Blue
Ospreys – Red
Eagles – Yellow
Hawks – Green

P3C & P3W – Solo Talk Homework

Solo Talk Homework

Over the next three weeks, you should prepare a solo talk which you will present to the class the week beginning Monday 14th June. This talk can be on a topic of your choice.

You may wish to talk about:

  • a sport you are involved in
  • a club that you attend
  • your pet
  • your favourite place to visit
  • a holiday you have been on
  • your favourite sports/music/film star.

We will be looking for:

  • good eye contact with the audience
  • a loud, clear voice and good pace
  • a talk which lasts 2 minutes.

You may have notes to help you but should not be reading your talk entirely from a piece of paper or PowerPoint presentation. You may bring a presentation, photos or props to show the class while you talk, but this is optional.

We look forwarding to hearing your presentations!

Hand Sanitiser

We have all been doing a great job of keeping our hands clean and germ free in school.
We also understand that some times we might not be close to a source of water but still need to keep our hands clean. When that happens we can ask an adult if it is okay to use sanitising gel. The people at Unilever have very kindly given us sanitising gel to help keep our hands clean and safe.
At the end of the day today you will be given a tube of gel to take home. Tell your grown-ups about it tonight and remember to give it to them so that they can supervise when you use it.

HWB

This term our topic is on farming and we have looked into the different types of food produced on a farm.
This week for your homework we would like you to create a healthy meal using Scottish produce.
We would love to see pictures of you preparing your meal and what it looks like once created.
When you are in the shops have a look at the label and see where the produce originates from.
