Week beginning 23rd November

Hello everyone,

We hope you had a great weekend. 🙂

News
This week we have House Art Day. This will take place on Friday 27th November. Please remember to send your child to school in old clothes on Friday, as it can get messy with all of the art activities we do.

Help
A plea for pine cones. If you and your children are out and about, going on walks or trips to the park, could you collect some pine cones. We need a good-sized pine cone for each child in Primary 2. We need these by Friday 27th, so your help is much appreciated with gathering as many as we can.

Homework
This week the new spelling rule is “y” making ‘ay’ sound.  The spelling homework words are listed below:
Please copy the words below three times.

1. lolly
2. party
3. happy
4. story
5. come
6. words
7. get
8. with

Can you try to create a sentence which should include at least one of spelling rule words. Here is an example.

There was a lolly in the party bag.

If you would like to challenge yourself, why not think of some other words which follow the spelling rule or try to grow your words and think of root or shoot words. For example

Spelling rule words
“y”
party
happy

Roots and Shoots
party – partying
happy  – happier

The maths homework grid should be attached to the assignment. The chilli challenge questions should also be attached. Please remember to only complete one activity a week. The activities chosen should be different each week. This is to give the children some variety.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with your child’s teacher 🙂

Week Beg 24th Aug – Flu letter and P.E., P2J, P2E

Hello

Your child will have received a letter for the flu shot today. It would be greatly appreciated if you could complete this letter and return it to the school by the end of the week.

Outdoor learning will be a focus this year, so children should come to school appropriately dressed for the weather every day. As PE is now going to be outdoors, children do not need to bring a PE kit. They should come dressed in suitable clothing and footwear for this each day. Our PE days will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. However, we may also be outside at other points throughout the week, regardless of the weather.

Thank you for your continued support,

Miss Gilbert and Miss Frew.

P2 W.B 20/4/20

Hello everyone,

I hope you all had a lovely, restful Easter break and were able to enjoy some of the sunshine.

Continuing on from before the break,  four activities will be posted on Teams each day for you to complete.  Please remember that you do not have to complete these for a certain time,  just when you can.  If you are online can you please comment your child’s name or a ‘hello’ on the morning ‘check-in’ post in your child’s class on Teams. This allows us to take a register and keep track of who has been online.

This week our new spelling rule is ‘oi’

Your spelling words this week are:  boil, join, point, spoil

For common words we have picked: the, they, them, then (as revision)

Your child’s class teacher will make a post about using Teams to host a video call for the class. This allows your child to speak to their teacher and classmates. Each class has a scheduled time for their Teams meeting, this will usually take place in the form of a ‘check-in’ on the Monday and ‘check-out’ on the Friday. Please check your child’s team chat to find out their classes time.

As always, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.

Have a great week!

P2 team.
