These cards should be kept in the book bags and returned to school each day.

Maths:  Please choose another one of the dotted activities to complete at home. You should initial and date the chosen activity.

Please find below another link to one of the songs we use in class. The opera version is a personal favourite of mine!

Count to 10

H&WB:  In our H&WB lessons this coming week, we will be discussing families. If possible, it would be great if the children could bring in photographs of some of their family members (including pets). This will allow them to build on their listening and talking skills as they will be discussing their photographs with the class. The photographs will be returned once we have finished this set of lessons. The photographs should be brought in for Thursday/Friday.

Target Wheel: Please continue to practice these activities at home and tick when you feel your child can achieve it. Mrs McAvoy and I will be looking at highlighting some of the targets over the next week.

  1.   P.E. is on Monday and Friday. Long hair should be tied back and earrings removed or taped.
  2. If possible, please check the bags each evening for homework and any letters which may have been issued. These letters should be removed from the book bag.
  3. A NHS and club information letter was issued last week. Thank you to everyone who has already returned these. Any still needing returned should be done so as soon as possible.
  4. Data check letters and internet consent forms were issued on Thursday. These should be returned to the school as soon as possible.
  5. Read & Munch will be on Friday. The children may bring in a favourite book from home for this activity. They may also bring a snack of fruit or vegetables to enjoy while reading. Could we please ask that the Read & Munch books are put in your child’s school bag rather than their book bag.

If you have any questions regarding homework, please do not hesitate to contact us. This can be done via the blog or your child’s book bag. Enjoy the remainder of the weekend.

Good afternoon! I hope you have been having a lovely weekend and enjoying the glorious weather. Please keep reading for a note of our homework and reminders for the coming week.

Sounds:  Cards for the sounds ‘s’, ‘a’ and ‘t’ will be in the book bags. Please practice these sounds, and the actions, with your child. You should ask them to think of as many words as they can beginning with this sound. You could also see if they can find any objects at home. These cards should be kept in the book bags and returned to school each day.

Reading:  The children will be bringing home a picture book from the class library. You should read this together and discuss the story using the Three Sharings method that we are now using in class. You will find a bookmark in your child’s book bag explaining the questions you should be using for this: what they liked/disliked about the book, any connections they may have with what happened in the book and anything they may have been puzzled/confused about.

Maths:  A homework sheet will be in the book bag. Please choose one of the dotted activities to complete at home. You should initial and date the chosen activity.

Please find below a link to one of the songs we used in class last week. It is a catchy one!

Let’s Count up to 10

H&WB: Target Wheel: Your child’s Target Wheel can be found in their book bag. Please practice these activities at home and tick when you feel your child can achieve it. When we are seeing your child achieve the target successfully, and regularly, in class, we will highlight the target green.

  1.   P.E. will be on Monday and Friday. Long hair should be tied back and earrings removed or taped.
  2.   If you were unable to attend the Parents’ Information Evening and require a book banding leaflet, please let us know.
  3.  Book bags should be brought to school each day. If possible, please check the bags each evening for homework and any letters which may have been issued. Book bags will be kept in school on a Friday.
  4.  In the mornings the children empty their own bags therefore it would be most helpful if the book bags were kept separate from their school bags. This will help build the children’s independence and also prevent any spillages from water bottles damaging reading books and paperwork.
  5.  We will be having our Read & Munch  sessions on a Friday afternoon. The children may bring in a favourite book from home for this activity. They may also bring a snack of fruit or vegetables to enjoy while reading.

If you have any questions regarding homework, please do not hesitate to contact us. This can be done via the blog or your child’s book bag. Enjoy the remainder of the weekend. We look forward to having another fabulous week with the children.
