It looks like a quite a few of you have been busy hiding our books over the weekend, despite the weather being rubbish at times. I hope you have enjoyed doing so. Remember to keep this going, we need to read any books we find and then rehide them again. Thank you for your support with this. It is much appreciated.
Here are some photos of you out and about hiding, and finding, the books. If you have yet to find one, look closely at the photographs. Can you work out where they are? We even had someone’s little sister finding a book this morning and she looks super excited to be involved. If you have still to hide your book, enjoy finding your hiding spots. Happy hunting!

On Friday 6th March we will be taking the children out into the village for an activity linked to World Book Day. To allow your child to take part, please access the email that has been sent to your Parent Pay account.
Both classes will require 2 parent helpers on the day. We will be leaving school at 2.15pm and should be returning to school by 2.45pm. If you are able to help, please leave a message on this blog post or send a note in with your child by Wednesday 4th.
Thanking you in advance.

We will be visiting Bishopton Library on Thursday 19th December. We are planning on leaving straight after break (10.50am) and will be returning before lunchtime. On the day we will require 4 helpers (2 per class). If you are able to help, please leave a message on this post or send a note in via your child’s book bag.
Please note that consent for our library visit will, once again, be completed through Parent Pay. If you have still to activate your account, please do so. The email to give consent will be issued in the next few days. If your account has not been activated before this, you will not receive the email. Also, if you have more than one child in the school, each of them will require a separate account. Please contact the school office if you are having any issues with this.
Thanking you in advance

In the New Year we are planning something a little special that will, hopefully, encourage lots of reading, not just in class but out in the community. To do this we will, ideally, require one book for every child in the class (34). If you are planning a wee clearout of children’s books before Christmas, please keep us in mind.

A wee reminder that all books from our Bishopton Library visit should be returned to school for Friday (29th). Our plan is to visit the library before the end of term, to return the books and choose new ones. Details of the date will follow shortly.

To allow the children to build on the reading strategies we are using in class, we will be visiting Bishopton Library on Thursday 7th November. The children will have the opportunity to take out one of the books on our class card. To help with this, we are looking for 4 parent helpers (2 per class). We will be leaving straight after morning break (around 10.55am) and will be returning before lunch. If someone at home is able to help, please leave a message on this post or send a note in via your child’s book bag.
Thanking you in advance.

We will be having our first Read & Munch tomorrow afternoon. The children may bring in a favourite book from home to read and a small fruit/vegetable snack to eat during this activity.

On Friday we had another Read & Munch with our P5 reading buddies. Everyone has a great time during these sessions and it so lovely to see the children interacting with one another. There is always some great chat going on about the books!

On our final day of term 1 P1P, P1N and P5S had another Read & Munch with their reading buddies. It was lovely to see you all mixing so well and sharing your stories with one another. I am looking forward to our next one already.

Yesterday P5S had a Read & Munch with their Primary 1 reading buddies. It was so lovely to see so many of them bring in a Christmas story to read. Great fun was had by all!
