Good afternoon Primary 1! We hope you are having a lovely weekend and are looking forward to your second week of Primary 1.

A wee reminder that we have our first P.E. session tomorrow (Monday) so you should come to school in your relaxed uniform as we will not be changing in class.  Also, Miss Grant will be in class tomorrow as I have my NCCT day.

Homework will begin next week (w/b 30th) so book bags may be kept at home until then. Homework letters will be issued very soon. This will outline the different ways we will be completing our homework over the course of Primary 1.

Our Parents’ Information Evening is on Tuesday. A letter with all of the relevant details (time and meeting joining code) was sent home last week.

We are on week 2 of our school lunches. Please click here for the menu. Remember to discuss the options available each day with your grown-up before coming to school.

The weather for the coming week is looking pretty good. Please ensure you have applied sun cream before coming to school. If you are bringing sun cream to school, you need to be able to apply it by yourself as we are unable to do this for you.

Enjoy the remainder of the weekend everyone.

Mrs O’Neill and Mrs McAvoy

Primary 1- Missing Cardigan

Good afternoon everyone,

Well Primary One, you have completed your very first week at school and we have to say, we are so proud of you all. Everyone has settled really well and have picked up most of our class routines. Well done boys and girls!

We have a plain, navy blue, Marks and Spencer cardigan that has been left in our classroom (aged 7-8). If this belongs to you, please let us know on Monday morning. This is a great opportunity to remind you all to ask your grown-up to clearly label all of your belongings please.

Have a fabulous weekend.

Mrs McAvoy and Mrs O’Neill

Welcome to Primary 1!

Welcome to our new Facebook Page! - Fairlands Primary School & Nursery

Good evening everyone! A huge welcome to Primary 1. Well done on a super first day. Both Mrs McAvoy and I were so impressed at just how well everyone settled in today. I am sure tomorrow will be just as wonderful.

Once we have your Glow emails we will introduce you to Teams which will be our main form of communication, however until then, we will be using our class blog to share any information with you.

A wee reminder that tomorrow we will begin our soft start so you may arrive from 8.45am. Also our P.E. days will be Monday and Wednesday. These sessions will start next week (week beginning 23rd). Please wear your casual uniform to school on these days as we will not be changing in class.

You do not need to bring book bags to school at the moment. We will let you know when these will be needed.

When bringing your snacks for our morning break, please have these in your schoolbag, separate from your lunchbox as this will save any confusion. Please click here  for a copy of our lunch menu. We are on week 1. Remember to chat with your grown-up before coming to school so you know which option you are having each day.

As we will be taking our learning outside some days, you may bring a set of wellies to school which can be kept in class. Any waterprooofs must be kept in your bag as we are unable to keep these in class. As with everything you bring to school, please ask your grown-up to make sure your name is clearly marked on your wellies.

For term 1 Mrs McAvoy and I will be having our NCCT days on  alternate Mondays so Miss Grant will be covering our classes on those days. Please note that for this week only Mrs McAvoy will be out of class on Thursday.

Have a lovely evening and we will see you all in the morning ready for another great day.

Mrs O’Neill and Mrs McAvoy
