Primary 1C – Homework & Reminders W/B 17/5/21

Good evening,

I hope you have had a lovely weekend. Homework for this week and reminders are below:

SOUNDS

We learned consonant blends ‘dr’ and ‘tr‘ last week – these have been added to our flashcards within the Teams phonics folder. An assignment for this has been set up on Teams. Please continue to practise all sounds at home as much as possible.

SIGHT WORDS

We learned two new sight words – ‘some’ and ‘her’.  Word Walls have been checked and focus words highlighted – these will be sent home on Monday, to be returned to school on Friday.  Please return your word wall to school tomorrow if you didn’t manage to hand it in last week. Remember to practise saying each word in a sentence. It’s a good idea to go back over the words you have already learned.

READING

No new reading books will be issued this week. If you have still to return your book from last week, please bring it to school tomorrow.

NUMERACY & MATHS

An assignment has been set up on Teams for you to complete.

END OF TERM SONG
As you have no reading book this week, it would be great if you could use the extra time to practice our song. I will continue to let you hear the song regularly in class but as restrictions stop us from singing in class, it would be super if you could practice singing the words as much as possible from home. The backing track and words for the song can be found within files on your Teams page named ‘P1 Virtual Concert Song’.

REMINDERS

  • Read & Munch will be on Wednesday. You may bring in a favourite book from home to read in class and a healthy snack.
  • School lunches and menu information can be found here.
  • Please remember to let me know in advance of any changes to pick up arrangements at the end of the day.
  • I will be out of class on Friday for my NCCT. Miss McFarlane will be in to teach you.
  • We are shortly due to start the Relationships, Sexual Health and Parenthood Education Programme (RSHPE) in class. Please click here to read the letter giving more information on the themes covered.

As always, if you have any questions please get in touch.

P1M & W: Wet Weather Clothing

Good afternoon,

As the weather has been particularly changeable this week, could you please ensure that your child has full waterproofs (wellies – kept in class, waterproof trousers and jacket or puddle suit – kept in your child’s bag) every day. This helps with our outdoor learning & keeps them dry during playtime/lunchtime.

Thanks,

Miss Wilson & Miss Murray
