P1 – Glow and Microsoft Teams

Good afternoon,

P1 pupils have been issued with an email address and password for Glow. Please use this to log in to Glow (This is Scottish Schools National Intranet). The children will be shown how to access Microsoft Teams, which is the app shown first on the Bishopton Apps List, over the next few days.

Please log in using your child’s sign in to check it is working properly. If you have any problems, please let your child’s class teacher know as soon as possible.

Many thanks,

  • Wednesday – Our nativity starts at 9:30 sharp. Tickets have been issued and we look forward to seeing many of you there.
  • Friday – As stated on the previous blog, we will have our P1 party on Friday morning. Children are welcome to come dressed in their party clothes. Friday is also an early release – closing at 2:30pm for the holidays.
  • Gym Kit: We will send home gym bags and sandshoes this week for you to check and wash.
  • Christmas Crafts: If you wish to purchase your child’s Christmas decoration please send in £1.50 before Friday of this week to allow all of the funds to be totalled.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very merry Christmas and to thank you all for your help and support this year. We are so proud of how well the children have settled into Primary 1 and have loved seeing their progress so far.

Many thanks,

Miss Wilson & Miss Murray.

P1M /P1W Nativity Parts

Good afternoon,

Your child has been issued with their part for our class nativity. Some children have a speaking part, some children have a singing or dancing part. If your child has a speaking part, a slip of paper with their line/lines has been put in their book bag.

We would ask that you practice their lines at home. We will also practice in school. Little and often works best.

We can’t wait for you to see our performance.

On a different note, can we please ask that you practise zipping up winter coats with children and putting on hats, scarves, gloves etc. – your help with this is much appreciated.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Miss Murray and Miss Wilson.

P1M/P1W – My Future Self Topic Volunteers

Good afternoon,

We have started a new topic all about my future self. The children are going to be learning about jobs in our community. We would love to have some parents with different jobs pop in to talk to the children about their jobs.

We would expect this be an informal five minute chat with some time after to allow the children to ask questions.

Please let us know if you would be interested in helping out – comment below or put a note in your child’s book bag.

Many thanks,

All About Me Photos – P1W/P1M

Good afternoon,

As part of our All About Me topic we are looking for photographs of the children with their families. If possible, please could you send in a photograph to add to our floor book/display.

We would also love to add photographs of the homes the children live in to our house corner – helps us to make it more realistic for the children.

Please note these photographs will not be returned. If you are unable to send in a photograph, this is absolutely fine.

Many thanks,

Miss Wilson & Miss Murray.
