This week we continued to learn all about COP26 in P1. We learned about how climate change affects animals, the meaning of biodiversity and we discussed how we can reduce the carbon footprint of food.

Here are some photographs of the different activities that we have been doing over the past couple of weeks.  Enjoy. 🙂

Good evening,

We hope you had a lovely October Holiday. We are looking forward to hearing what you got up to on Tuesday (tomorrow is an in-service day).

COMMUNICATION

Please remember that we now use TEAMS as our main form of communication for class information. Continue to check your class TEAMS page regularly for information about homework, general reminders for the week and updates on what we have been getting up to in class.

You can keep up to date with whole school news by clicking here.

If your grown-up would like to get in touch with us about anything, please remind them that they can email us or catch us at the class door, before or after school. We can also arrange to phone them if required. We are happy to help. 😊

HOMEWORK

Our homework will look a little different this term. We will continue to post on TEAMS each week detailing your homework for that week. This will generally consist of the following:

  • Reading Book
  • Wordwall (sight word practice)
  • Jolly Phonics (sound cards)
  • SEAL activity sheet
  • Target Wheel

Enjoy your final day off tomorrow P1P and P1S. See you on Tuesday. 🙂

Primary 1 – COP26 Maths Week Scotland Challenge

@BishoptonPS  @AttainRen #MWSREN

Primary 1 had a busy morning looking at and discussing famous Glasgow landmarks in honour of COP26. Mrs O’Neill and I were very impressed with how many Glasgow landmarks you recognised and could name. Well done P1! 🙂

After our discussion, P1 chose to work individually, in pairs or in groups to build a 3D model of one of the landmarks. Again, Mrs O’Neill and I were super impressed with how well you rose to this challenge and the teamwork that we witnessed from most of you was great!

Here are some photographs from this challenge. Enjoy! 🙂

Good evening.

We hope you have had a great weekend.

All homework (including reading for enjoyment books) will be issued on Monday. Homework should be returned on Friday.

Details of the tasks for this coming week can be found below.

Sounds: We have so far learned the sounds ‘s’, ‘a’, ‘t’, ‘i’, ‘p’ and ‘n’. This week we would like you to revise and practice all sounds and actions until you are confident at recognising and identifying all 6 sounds. There are many ways in which you can do this. An assignment has been set up on Teams (it will go live tomorrow morning) to give you ideas of how you can practice these sounds.

Reading: Another Reading for Enjoyment book will be issued tomorrow. Please read this with someone at home. You should then use the Three Sharings to discuss the story. This is when you discuss the following:

  • something you liked about the story
  • something you didn’t like about the story
  • any connections you may have had with what happened in the story or anything you may have been confused about.

Please return your book on Friday. If you have not already returned your book from last week, please bring this to school tomorrow (Monday).

SEAL: Please complete one of the dotted tasks on your homework grid. Once completed, please ask your grown-up to initial and date the task you worked on. You should return your SEAL grid on Friday.

Microsoft Teams: Thank you to everyone who has commented on our first post on Teams. If you have not already done so, please do this ASAP. If you are unable to access Teams for any reason, please let us know.

P.E.: P.E. will be on Monday and Wednesday. Please come to school in your relaxed uniform on these days. Remember we will be outside so you should be dressed appropriately. There is a chance it will rain tomorrow so please bear this in mind.

Update: School Photographs are taking place on Wednesday – please come to school dressed as you would like your photograph taken.
