P1M and P1W Week Beginning 7th June

Good morning,

We hope you are having a lovely weekend. Homework for this week and reminders are below:

SOUNDS          The 10 Best Ways to Help Kids Learn Phonics (Activities to Help Your Child Learn to Read!) | How to Learn

We learned consonant blends ‘pl‘ and ‘pr‘ last week – these have been added to our flashcards within the Teams phonics folder. Please continue to practice all sounds at home as much as possible.

SIGHT WORDS

We learned two new sight words – ‘into’ and ‘time’.  Word Walls have been checked and focus words highlighted – these will be sent home on Monday, to be retuned to school on Friday.  Remember to practice saying each word in a sentence. It’s a good idea to go back over the words you have already learned.

READING    Two children reading books in school - Download Free Vectors, Clipart Graphics & Vector Art

A new reading book will be issued on Monday – please read this with someone at home. Please return books to school on Friday 11th June to allow us to quarantine these ready for the following week.

NUMERACY & MATHS

In maths, we have been learning about halves and focusing on how to share amounts into two equal groups. You may want to practice with objects around the house – ask a grown up to provide you with groups of objects up to 20 (you could use beads, pasta, buttons or other small items). Your job is to half the group and count the number of objects in each group to make sure they are equal.

REMINDERS

  • Read & Munch will be on Thursday. You may bring in a favourite book from home to read in class and a healthy snack – please remember your snack should be a healthy one, such as, fruit or vegetables.
  • School lunches and menu information can be found here.

As always, if you have any questions please get in touch.
