Good morning everyone! Welcome back to term 2. I hope you have all had a wonderful October break. We are looking forward to hearing all of the children’s stories.
Homework and reminders for the coming week can be found below.
Sounds: New sound cards for l, f and b will be added to the book bags. Please continue to practice all of the sounds, and the actions, with your child. To challenge the children, please ask for examples of words containing the sounds. The children are very good at doing this in class. The cards should be kept in the book bags and returned to school each day. Please find below the Jolly Phonics songs for our new sounds.
Reading: The children will receive a new wordless book to read at home. Please continue to discuss the story using the Three Sharings method . Please remember the bookmark in the book bags is there to help with this activity.
Word Walls: Please continue to practice the highlighted words on your child’s individual word wall. Once confident in reading the word, your child should practice putting the word in a sentence. Please click here for additional information on this task.
- P.E. is on Monday and Friday. Kits were sent home at the end of last term for washing. Please remember to send in a fresh kit for this term. A wee reminder that long hair should be tied back and earrings removed or taped.
- Please check the bags each evening for homework and any letters which may have been issued. These letters should be removed from the book bag.
- If you wish to purchase your child’s school photograph, please remember these should be returned to school, with full payment, by Wednesday 23rd.
- Read & Munch will be on Friday. A healthy snack (fruit or vegetables) may be brought to school along with a favourite book from home.
As always, if you have any questions regarding homework, please do not hesitate to contact us. This can be done via the blog or your child’s book bag.
