Session 5: Achieving<\/strong><\/p>\n

This session, our focus for outdoor learning was ‘Achieving’, from the SHANARRI Wellbeing wheel.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We learned that the indicator ‘Achieving’ is also our first school value. The meaning of this word is when we work hard at something to achieve something good for ourselves, other people or other things. We reflected on the meaning of this word to us, and how this made us feel, which was very good!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We also reflected on our achievements in improving our garden, as a result of children’s ideas and hard work. P2 children remembered the\u00a0branches they cut and sawed in preparation for making a den. They were very impressed to observe that P3 have continued this work and placed a cover over the branches which were left standing to begin this den. We brainstormed how we could achieve further improvements to our garden.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We heard from Mrs McDonald and Mrs Mackey that P3 children have observed black birds, robins and sparrows feeding at the bird feeders we made. These can be seen from our new bird hide in the school corridor! All the children were very busy conducting garden and pond maintenance today and were confident doing so. \u00a0While exploring Amelia and Olivia discovered an interesting collection of slate pieces. Tom and Chloe sequenced these by size at our mud kitchen. Adam made a very popular suggestion that we could use these pieces and leaves to make a house for hedge hogs, next to the pond on Thursday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
