This week we have introduced spelling groups. Each week we will learn different spelling rules and practice our spelling words at home as well as in class. At the end of the week on a Friday, we might sometimes do an informal spelling test with our homework words.\u00a0 We will be using the ‘Look, say, cover, write and check’ method. Please find more information on this below. There are also other spelling strategies which can also be used to help improve spelling and these can be found below too.<\/p>\n

Look at the first word and say it. Cover it and the try and write it. Check to see if you spelled shop correctly. Repeat again. Now try it with all the other words.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n In class we have been learning to use different reading strategies to improve our reading. Please find this useful poster to go over with your child. Ask your child to explain what each strategy means. See is you can use these strategies when reading at\u00a0 home.<\/p>\n\n
