{"id":514,"date":"2015-08-18T15:42:29","date_gmt":"2015-08-18T15:42:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/re\/ourlady\/?page_id=514"},"modified":"2019-08-25T13:11:33","modified_gmt":"2019-08-25T13:11:33","slug":"the-nursery-day","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/re\/ourlady\/the-nursery-day\/","title":{"rendered":"The ELCC Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Welcome<br \/>\n<\/strong>On arrival your child will join their group and key worker, collect their name badge and brush their teeth, parent\/carer must sign in.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Free Play\u00a0 <\/strong><\/div>\n<div>The children are encouraged to choose their own experiences including painting, sand and water, junk modelling, imaginative play, physical, outdoor play, books, investigative play, playdough, writing\/drawing, large construction and jigsaws.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Group Time<br \/>\n<\/strong>To encourage group identity and a sense of belonging your child will participate in small structured activities with their key worker.\u00a0 Any work completed by your child is kept within their \u2018scrapbooks\u2019.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Library<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>On a Monday your child will choose a book to take home in their library bags to share with you.\u00a0 The aim is to promote early literacy skills and encourage a love of books.\u00a0 Books are returned on the following Monday.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Snack<br \/>\n<\/strong>We promote healthy eating at Our Lady of Peace Nursery.\u00a0 Children are offered a daily snack of milk or water and a wide choice of fresh fruit.\u00a0 The children plan what healthy snacks they would like and gain knowledge of healthy and unhealthy foods through our \u2018Eat Well to Play Well\u2019 activities.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome On arrival your child will join their group and key worker, collect their name badge and brush their teeth, parent\/carer must sign in.
