Cooperative Learning Teams

We have formed our cooperative learning groups for Term 1 and to get the team spirit going, we worked together to create a pyramid of plastic cups – only we weren’t allowed to use our hands! We had to use elastic bands and work together to stretch the elastic, grasp the cup and then flip it over before releasing it again. It was extremely hard work but every team experienced success.

Well done!

Book Study

For the first few weeks of term we read ‘The Suitcase Kid’ by Jacqueline Wilson, a story about a girl called Andy whose parents are divorced. She is faced with the difficult situation of living between two houses, as well as very annoying step brothers and sisters! The pupils absolutely loved this story and are already looking forward to their next class novel.

Our Class Charter

We created our Class Charter by looking at children’s’ rights outlined in the UNCRC. In pairs, we highlighted the articles which we felt were most relevant to us in our school and class. As a class, we then voted for the top 6.

To ensure we will respect these chosen rights in our class, we then agreed to the actions which everyone should follow for the rest of the school year.

Suggestions were given as to how we should display our charter and pupils voted for an ‘Emoji Rights’ theme.
