The Blitz was a German bombing campaign against the United Kingdom during the Second World War between 1940 and 1941. The term was first used by the British press and is the German word for ‘lightning’.<\/p>\n

We have been learning about the devastating effects The Blitz had on the town of Clydebank on the 13th<\/sup> and 14th<\/sup> March 1941.<\/p>\n

The Blitz was part of Hitler\u2019s attempt to invade Britain, so called \u2018Operation Sea Lion\u2019.<\/p>\n
