Within Sciences, the following areas are studied throughout P1 &#8211; 7.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Planet Earth<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Biodiversity and interdependence<\/li>\n<li>Energy sources and sustainability<\/li>\n<li>Processes of the planet<\/li>\n<li>Space<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Forces, electricity and waves<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Forces<\/li>\n<li>Electricity<\/li>\n<li>Vibrations and waves<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Biological systems<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Body systems and cells<\/li>\n<li>Inheritance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Materials<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Properties and use of substances<\/li>\n<li>Earth\u2019s materials<\/li>\n<li>Chemical changes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Topical science<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Topical science<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Topics can be stand alone or part of Interdisciplnary Learning whereby science knowledge and skills can be understood and applied in a context.<\/p>\n<p>The school recognises the important role in promoting STEM subjects within the primary sector and learning is often enhanced through close partnerships with outside agencies in this area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Teaching of the sciences reflects the important part science plays in our Scottish heritage and the everyday applications of science in our lives.
