Our aim is to establish a happy, relaxed environment in which each child may develop his\/her full potential. Positive attitudes to work and behaviour is essential if this is to be achieved. Every child is therefore asked to follow and conform to the rules of the school and parents are kept closely informed so that they can support the systems in use.<\/p>\n
Our House\u00a0Point system includes many positive reinforcement strategies which will be used to encourage good behaviour, independence, co-operation and caring. Every child in the school will have the opportunity to work towards a common goal. Parental support is very important in encouraging good behaviour and attitudes to work.<\/p>\n The school follows the council\u2019s policy, Tackling Bullying in Renfrewshire. <\/a>Bullying is an unacceptable form of behaviour through which an individual or groups of individuals feel threatened, abused, or undermined by another individual. Bullying is behaviour which can be defined as a repeated attack of a physical, psychological, social or verbal nature by those who are able to exert influence over others.<\/p>\n Concerns regarding bullying should be reported to the Head Teacher or a promoted member of staff. Children are encouraged to tell staff if they feel they are being bullied. We take allegations of bullying very seriously and incidents are carefully investigated and monitored. \nWeekly \u2018Head Teacher\u00a0Awards\u2019 are presented each Friday by the Head Teacher. Class teachers nominate children to receive a\u00a0HT award for a range of reasons including, for example, having tidy jotters, being polite or being a helpful pupil.<\/p>\n
