Outdoor Learning Environment

Our Journey in developing our Outdoor Learning Environment

We have a large outdoor space in which the children have worked hard in order to develop using a variety of recycled materials. We have worked in partnership with local businesses and involved parents who have worked with the centre in order to create our engaging and stimulating environment
We made our Water Wall from old pipes and guttering creating an area where we can investigate and explore.
Using wooden pallets we created our very own obstable course where we can use blocks to add to and create larger structures.
Our children have spend a lot of time working on building our Bug Hotel and Fairy Garden again using recycled resources. This has encouraged imaginagtive play as well as developing skills and responsibilites of caring for living things and looking after our environment. We had parents involved in this process working closely with staff and children.

Tuesday 14th August 2018: During In-Service training Grounds for Learning came to the centre to deliver training on developing and enhancing experiences outdoors. Through attending this we have already began embedding these ideas within our environment using a variety of resources with the children to create dens.
