“Camp Green Lake is a dry, flat wasteland”

Expand on this to write a full descriptive paragraph about the setting.

Rowling – Must have a variety of sentence openers, prepositional phrases and expanded noun phrases which have been selected carefully for effect.

Dahl Use a variety of preposition in writing and also use ambitious vocabulary to make writing more interesting

Walliams – Write 3-4 sentences. Try to include an adjective (descriptive word) in each sentence.

4. Read over your work and check for missing punctuation. Try to up-level your descriptive paragraph.

Extension Task – Drama (Hot Seating)

You are going to take on the role of Stanley. Prepare questions for an adult to ask you based around;

  • What Stanley felt when he first saw Camp Green Lake?
  • How did it compare to his childhood idea of Camp Fun and Games?

Once you have prepared the questions and answers for Stanley, why not have a go recording a live interview. You are now in the hot seat in the role of Stanley answering questions for 1 minute. Try to impersonate how you imagine the character to be.

Friday 15th May – Microsoft Teams Chat (2:00pm)

We thought a nice way to end the week would be to have a Microsoft Teams chat. Some of the things we will be looking to discuss with you are:

  • sharing your stories and experiences of home learning so far.
  • Things you have enjoyed and what you would like to do and ideas for learning in final term.
  • Latest news regarding transition to Castlehead.
  • Anything you want to ask or share.

If you can’t get on contact me through Glow.
