Art (Friday 5th June)
Art Task
Research Vincent Van Gogh, what do you think of his artwork? Which is your favourite? Try and recreate one of them. I have put some examples of his work below, see what other artwork he has when you research him.
PE (Friday 5th June)
PE Task
So boys and girls, this is time for you get your pay back on all the circuits I made you all do last year in PE!
As the gyms are closed and I cannot get to one to exercise, I would love for you to create me a short workout that I will complete in my own home. I am looking for 5 exercises that I can do for 30 seconds each and will complete your 5 exercises 3 times in total.
You can use Joe Wicks are inspiration to get ideas for some moves.
I cannot wait to see these and try them out.

Transition (Friday 5th June)
Transition Task
There are a few transition activities to take part in today whether you are to Castlehead or St Andrew’s.
Castlehead
Most of you should have received the newsletter with regards to the virtual transition that is taking place. There are a few activities that you can complete today that were mentioned on the newsletter; Science and Modern Languages. They have set up a Teams page which you should have been added to and so can complete the tasks there. They also have a teacher from Castlehead available to answer your questions.
St Andrews
St Andrew’s twitter page have been posting introduction videos from some of their staff members as part of your transition. Please go on and have a look to meet some of the teachers and learn more about them. I have placed the link to their school social media below where you can find the videos.

Maths (Tuesday 2nd June)
Data Handling
Today we will just be continuing on from yesterday’s data handling. Today you will be using line graphs to answer the questions, so again read carefully. The scale does not always stand for 1 so make sure you figure out the scale before answering. Try and do as much as you can 🙂

Literacy (Tuesday 2nd June)
Holes Comprehension
Yesterday you were asked to read chapters 13 & 14 of Holes and complete a summary for each chapter. I am now asking you to read chapters 15 and 16. I will repost the document here so that you can access it easily rather then trying to find yesterday’s blog.
Once you have read today’s chapters, please complete the comprehensions questions based on chapters 13-15.
– Why did Stanley lose count of the number of holes he had dug?
– Why doesn’t Stanley want to give it to X-Ray?
– Why is Stanley allowed to move up in the line?
– Why do you think X-Ray snaps at Stanley?
– Why does the warden get everyone to start digging around X-Ray’s hole? Why might this be fruitless?
Remember to answer in a sentence and do not start a sentence with the word ‘because’

Illusion Challenge
Mrs McLaren has sat an illusions challenge for you all to do. You can do this inside or outside the house and even try to get other involved. I have attached the document that gives you the instructions on what to do.
This is such a creative challenge and cannot wait to see what you come up with.

Good Morning P7 🙂
Hope you have all been well and spending time with your families. I’m sure some of you have started to meet up with one of your friends at a distance since we are now allowed to. It was so nice to finally see my mum and take the dogs a walk, staying 2m away from each other.
Yesterday I posted an item about Transition. Please make sure you go on a look at the documents attached as they are important. Those going to St Andrew’s, your transition booklets were sent out so please check your emails.
Today activities are as follows:
Literacy – Read Chapters 15 and 16 then complete comprehension questions based on chapters 13-15 of Holes,
Maths – Data Handling Q7 – 13
Technology – Illusions Challenge.

Transition to High School
Hi Boys and Girls.
I am sure this is an exciting time as you get ready to go to High School, whether it is St Andrew’s Academy or Castlehead High. You probably have a lot of questions you want to ask. I have provided a Q&A document from Castlehead which answers a lot of these questions for you so make sure you have a read!
Castlehead is also uploading a virtual tour of the school and some senior members of staff ie HT, guidance teachers etc introducing themselves onto the Castlehead website which can be found through any search engine. I have provided the Castlehead Website underneath. Please let me know when you have completed this.
