November Newsletter

Gallowhill PrImary School Newsletter – November 2017

I would like to take this opportunity to inform you that our school will be inspected by HMIe week beginning 20th November. This is a process that all schools go through every few years so it is not unexpected and we welcome the opportunity to engage with the process.

Parents and carers are invited to complete an electronic questionnaire:

https://forms.education.gov.scot/s/OQ7ZL/
I have attached a formal letter with this information but I wanted to say that we appreciate that not everyone has access to a computer so we will set up laptops from 3pm-5pm on Monday 6th,Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th November in school and you are welcome to come in and complete the survey. We really value your views so please let HMIe know them too.
I will also text out the link if it’s more convenient to do it on your phone.

Nativity
As the inspection will be taking place near the end of November, I am really sorry but I am having to rearrange the dates of the Nativity.
This will now be held on Thursday 14th December at 1.30pm and Friday 15th December at 10am.
Lucky Tickets will be available from Monday 4th December costing £2.50. Initially, these will be limited to 2 tickets per family but any spare tickets will then be available on a first come basis.
A prize draw for £30 will take place at each performance.
Christmas party dates will change slightly but I’ll let you know ASAP.

St Andrews’ Day holiday
School will be closed on Thursday 30th November and will re-open at 9am on Friday 1st December.

Christmas Fair
This will be held on Friday 1st December from 1.30pm. We welcome donations of cuddly toys and items for the Tombola stall or Raffle prizes.
Unfortunately, we can’t accept toys, books or bric-a-brac this year.
