{"id":979,"date":"2023-04-18T22:05:25","date_gmt":"2023-04-18T21:05:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/re\/fordbankprimaryschoolren\/?page_id=979"},"modified":"2023-09-14T23:54:57","modified_gmt":"2023-09-14T22:54:57","slug":"educational-psychology","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/re\/fordbankprimaryschoolren\/educational-psychology\/","title":{"rendered":"Educational Psychology"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\">\n<h1 class=\"entry-title\">EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY SERVICES<\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fordbank Link Psychologist: Ms Rebecca Gibson-Knowles<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>Educational Psychologists (EPs) use their knowledge of psychology, child development, education and learning to help children and young people make the most of their lives, particularly in educational settings.<\/p>\n<p>An EP views children and young people\u2019s development and learning in the context of their environment, especially their educational environment.\u00a0This approach emphasises educational needs rather than diagnostic labels and seeks to take an evidence-based approach to practice.<\/p>\n<p>EPs seek to maintain and develop a quality educational psychology service which:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>fulfils statutory obligations<\/li>\n<li>reflects Renfrewshire Council\u2019s policies and priorities<\/li>\n<li>promotes consultation with stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>is delivered in a fair and consistent manner<\/li>\n<li>promotes social inclusion<\/li>\n<li>operates in the best interests of all children<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Educational Psychology Service produces various guides which outline the work of the service.
