Thank you so much to everyone who attended this event. I hope you found the presentation both helpful and informative.
We value the views of our parents/carers and will consider what you have said as we begin to create our new Anti-Bullying policy.
I am delighted to tell you that following interviews, Miss Louise Hamilton was the successful candidate for our teaching post. Miss Hamilton will take over from Mr Paton at some point after the October holidays. Miss Hamilton will be a familiar face to some of you as she was our P4 teacher last year.
Mr Paton will be leaving us on 12th October to take up his new post and we wish him all the very best for the future. Good luck Mr Paton!
Following on from our annual survey in June, several parents said that they would like more opportunities to be involved in the school and as you will be aware from our school calendar, we have tried to build these in. One of the suggestions was Parent Helpers and we are hoping to have some volunteers in Terms 2, 3 and 4.
We have surveyed the staff and in Term 2 we are looking for parent helpers for Reading, Art and Outdoor activities on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for 4 weeks . If you would be interested in helping out with any of these activities, please fill out the tear-off slip below and return to the school by 28 September 2018. Please note it may not always be possible to work in your child’s classroom.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Parent Helpers T2 Tear-off
P6 became reporters today when our class turned into a newsroom. We worked in groups to find a news story, research it and create a news script about it.
Our news anchors then introduced each story and our presenters read their scripts. It was amazing hearing all about the effects Storm Ali is having!
A reminder that every child in the school has been entered into the National Sumdog competition for Maths week! The competition will run until Thursday at 8pm.
We will have some special class certificates for the top 3 classes and special prizes if any pupils make it into the top 50!
So far primaries 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7 have qualified for places!
Thank you to everyone who came along to our “Meet the Teacher” event. The feedback shows that everyone who attended found the event helpful and informative.
Many parents signed up for our new Homework Cafe. The next date for the Cafe is Monday 11th September ( 3.00-3.45) and we would be delighted to see you there.
We are delighted to invite all parents to come along to our first “Work alongside your child” event. To help manage the number of people, we would like P1 – 3 parents to come from 9.00 – 9.45 and P4 – 7 parents to come from 9.45 – 10.30.
Parents will have the chance to visit their child’s class whilst the children are learning and maybe even join in some of the activities. If you have more than one child, you will be able to go between the classrooms.
We hope you are able to join us and look forward to seeing you on Thursday at 9.00 or 9.45.
